Getting Started

1. The Meet

The first step to a great smile is a complimentary initial exam. At this appointment you will meet the team and learn about orthodontics. At the initial consultation we will:

  • Discover what concerns you have about your smile and your bite
  • Review your medical and dental history
  • Complete an oral examination and discuss the initial findings with you
  • Begin discussing financial information, insurance options and payment plans

At Blue Sky Orthodontics, we understand that a happy, healthy, brilliant smile is a key component to looking and feeling your best. Our team will help guide you every step of the way to make your orthodontic care a great experience from beginning to end. We use the latest technologies and proven techniques to develop a customized treatment plan to give you the care you deserve.

Getting started at Blue Sky Orthodontics involves four key components. Keep in mind that many of these initial steps can be combined to fit your schedule and comfort level of proceeding with orthodontic care. We will educate you at each step and answer all of your questions so that you can fully understand what orthodontics can do for you and how we will reach your goals.

2. The Info

At the records appointment, we will make records that will be used to create a thorough and accurate diagnosis of your unique situation. Photos of your teeth and facial structures, digital X-rays and digital scans of your teeth will be taken so that Dr. Cassaidy and Dr. Poss can do an in-depth facial, skeletal and dental analysis to determine the best treatment options for you.  This consultation appointment can often be completed the same day as the initial consultation.

3. The Talk

At the consultation appointment, we will sit down to discuss your diagnosis and go over your customized treatment options. We use your orthodontic records to develop the correct, most efficient treatment plan possible for you and your lifestyle. We will discuss the estimated length of treatment and finalize payment and insurance options. Spacers may also be placed to allow for braces to be put on at your next visit. This appointment can often be completed the same day the orthodontic treatment is started.

4. The Start

The big day! By this time you will be fully prepared to begin your orthodontic treatment. The appointment to place your new braces, Invisalign or any other appliance will take anywhere from 1-2 hours. You will get all the information and tools you need to keep your teeth clean and healthy during your treatment. We will never fail to continue answering your questions during your start and future visits.
